Redmond School Break Food Box Program
Working with school counselors in participating Redmond schools, the Redmond School Break Food Box Program provide boxes of supplemental food to families experiencing food insecurity. We shop in bulk for fresh produce and shelf stable items, engage the community with special requests, fill Food Boxes with nutrient-rich items (and a treat or two, of course!) and deliver to our families. Distribution Day coordinates with school breaks, when school cafeterias are closed, and children don't have access to free/reduced lunches.

As a 100% community-backed and local organization, we rely on donations to continue doing what we do! Mission Statement
We believe no person should ever go to bed, to school, or to work hungry; we know children learn better when they are fed, families function better when their needs are met, and engaged communities are powerful. The Redmond School Break Food Box Program’s primary goals are to offer nutrition and hope to families experiencing food insecurity and to create a caring community where all people feel safe, valued, and important.
WHO ARE WE?
The Redmond School Break Food Box Program is a collaborative ministry of several local churches, operating in the Educational Hill area since the fall of 2016. We specifically focus our services to families with school-aged children; the Redmond School Break Food Box Program assists these families by supplying groceries and other necessities during times when students may not have access to free/reduced lunches. We are a non-profit, completely grassroots and volunteer-run program, and every dollar donated goes straight into feeding our local families.

Covid-19 Notice
In these uncertain times, we’re working hard to provide a monthly food box for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We maintain our commitment to health and safety by shopping in bulk, purchasing clean boxes for every distribution, offering touchless delivery or pick-up, and wearing masks and gloves as we work. While we rely on community giving to fund the program, we understand that this is an uncertain time for many. Support comes in many forms, and there are no small gifts! Volunteering, Liking us on Facebook, and telling your friends about the Redmond School Break Food Box Program are other ways you can give.
What our families say
“I just wanted to email to THANK YOU all for your generosity. The food boxes have helped us out tremendously... Receiving the foodboxes has helped us more times than I can remember. My kids always get so happy receiving and going through them. Our favourite combination is the food boxes w/ toiletries. ”
"I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart that God bless you!"
"Thank you!! For your help, personally, it has helped me a lot 🙏🏻"
"We love and eat everything in the food box.
When receiving a food box with a gift card I would just use the gift card to buy toiletries, toilet paper, kids favourite fruits, bags of salad, or anything my kids might need at home. I would usually use any gift card we receive towards the end of the month when my SNAP benefits are low or have run out.
Also, thank you so much for reaching out and all you guys do."
WHAT OUR SCHOOL COUNSELORS SAY
“There are not enough words to describe how much the Redmond Food Box Program has meant to the families and staff at Clara Barton Elementary. Many of the students and families at our school experience food-insecurity and absolutely rely on the program during school breaks. Then when the pandemic hit, and schools closed for an extended time, so many of our students became even more at risk. The amazing volunteers in the program have been unwavering in their dedication to make sure that each family receives a box of food- even FRESH produce! I am in awe of this program and am incredibly thankful for their support. I am constantly hearing from families that they cannot imagine not having this resource in their lives. We are so thankful for you Redmond Food Box Program!”
