New, January 20: Next week, Safeway is launching a Nourish Everyone campaign focused on SNAP. As part of the campaign, the company aims to call attention to the fact that 10% of Americans are food insecure, and to advocate for greater access to food in ways that are convenient, allow for choice, and preserve dignity. For the latest news and information about extended SNAP benefits and a continuation of the P-EBT program check out www.frac.org. On this site you’ll also find lots of timely information about hunger and poverty, action items, programs, research and data.

If you’re going to be handing out pizza, flipping hamburgers, tossing salad, preparing dessert, using food prep. equipment or utensils, a useful (and possibly required) thing to have is a current WA State Food Worker Card. All the information you’ll need including a study guide to help you prepare for the test, payment (there’s a $10 fee) details and the test itself can be found at https://www.doh.wa.gov/CommunityandEnvironment/Food/FoodWorkerandIndustry/FoodWorkerCard
