WA Dept of Commerce Seeking Participants for Usability Study

The Washington Department of Commerce is working with a company called Anthro-Tech to improve the FundHub website, and we’re seeking participants for an upcoming usability study. What’s the goal for this study? To better understand how effectively website users can complete tasks that are important to them on the FundHub website, what challenges they face, and what could improve their experience. Good candidates for this study: local government employees, state agency employees, and nonprofit employees who search and apply for funding opportunities. These individuals do not need to have used FundHub in the past - we’re open to hearing from people who have a variety of experience using the FundHub website. What happens during the usability study? The study will take place one-on-one over Zoom for up to 1 hour with our research partners at Anthro-Tech. We’ll ask you about your experience searching for funding opportunities for clean energy-related infrastructure and other projects. Then, we’ll ask you to complete some tasks on the FundHub website, and we’ll ask some follow-up questions. With your consent, the session will be audio and video recorded for research purposes. What you share will remain anonymous. If you have any questions about the study or the project, please feel free to reach out to Claire Benjamin at clairebenjamin@anthro-tech.com. Thank you for helping us improve the way that we serve the state of Washington.  How to participate: If you’re interested and available the weeks of May 12 or May 19, please complete this short survey: FundHub Research Availability, After you select one or more time slots that work for you and submit the survey, if you are selected, we will reach out to confirm your participation and send an Outlook invitation with a link to the Zoom meeting. If you participate and you are NOT a government employee, we will send you a $100 gift card as a thank you for your time.

American Cancer Society Relaunches Volunteer Driver Program

After pausing the Road To Recovery program due to public health concerns during the pandemic, The American Cancer Society (ACS) is relaunching their volunteer driver program. Patients can access the program either through the mobile-friendly website or an app that will allow them to submit ride requests and see real time notifications. Patients who lack access to technology or who prefer to connect via phone can still call 1-800-227-2345 to schedule rides to treatment. ACS is seeking volunteer drivers to support this program.  This volunteer flyer provides more information about how to get involved. If you need assistance or know someone who does, this program flyer has more details.
