City of Issaquah Recruiting Transportation Advisory Board Members Apply By Feb 28, 2025
The Transportation Advisory Board advises the City Council and staff on transportation policies, recommends improvements, and provides input on key projects and priorities. Recruitment: TAB is currently recruiting for three Regular positions, one Regular-Youth position and two Alternate positions. The application deadline is 10:00 a.m. February 28th, 2025. Basic information about the Board: Term length: Each regular member serves a four-year term, except for the youth member (ages 15–18), who serves a two-year term. City staff oversee the recruitment process and recommend candidates to the Mayor for appointment. Board structure: There are eleven positions including nine regular voting seats and two alternative seats. The alternative seats are expected to also attend regularly scheduled meetings but only have the ability to vote on a topic if there is a vacant regular seat. Qualifications of board members: At least five of the nine regular members must be City residents or employed by a business in Issaquah. We are also looking for at least three members with professional expertise in transportation-related issues. One seat is designated for a youth member (ages 15–18). Tilth Alliance: Soil & Water Stewardship
We are currently recruiting for our 2025 Soil & Water Stewardship program at Tilth Alliance. The Soil and Water Stewardship program offers a comprehensive, eight-month training in regenerative food systems and environmental stewardship. Stewards apply what they learn through hands-on projects like building garden beds and compost systems, installing rainwater catchment and creating habitat for wildlife at community gardens, schools and parks in King County. Soil and Water Stewards meet one weekend per month with educational workshops taking place on Saturdays and hands-on projects on Sundays.

American Cancer Society Relaunches Volunteer Driver Program
After pausing the Road To Recovery program due to public health concerns during the pandemic, The American Cancer Society (ACS) is relaunching their volunteer driver program. Patients can access the program either through the mobile-friendly website or an app that will allow them to submit ride requests and see real time notifications. Patients who lack access to technology or who prefer to connect via phone can still call 1-800-227-2345 to schedule rides to treatment. ACS is seeking volunteer drivers to support this program.
