Opportunities for Supporting Shelters on the Eastside

Reclaim (formerly Snoqualmie Valley Shelter Services)

Reclaim’s mission is to help people reclaim their lives. We provide life-changing services to those experiencing homelessness by working with our communities to provide emergency shelter, social services, and connections to permanent housing. We believe deeply in the power of relationships and work to meet people exactly where they are

PorchLight! (Congregations For The Homeless)

Our mission: Partnering with men and the community to create a path from homelessness to stable living.

Green Team Volunteers Needed: Being a good neighbor is important to PorchLight. We are looking for volunteers to help us keep our neighborhood clean. The commitment is minimal and flexible. Our staff leads the group, and we work in small groups. We provide all the gear needed: gloves, pickers, and bags. You provide the muscle and the energy! If you are interested, email us at volunteer@porchlightcares.org.

The Sophia Way We are committed to ending homelessness for women in King County

Feb 2026: Our Need: A Donation Center We urgently need a new space to serve as our next donation center - a critical resource for the women we support. Why It Matters: Nearly 60 women in our shelters, along with many who secure housing, depend on the everyday necessities donated by the community. To continue receiving the high volume of in-kind donations, we need a space that can store all the clothing, toiletries, footwear, pantry staples, cleaning supplies, and home essentials we receive. Please check the flyer for more information and details of the desired space.

VISIT OUR NEW WEBSITE! Our refreshed website reflects the warmth and care The Sophia Way brings to women experiencing homelessness. With a modern, mobile-friendly design, the website makes it easy to learn more about our mission, get involved, and support our programs. Sharing some links you might find helpful: About The Sophia Way * Programs * Provide a meal * Donate in-kind items  |  Amazon wishlist * Volunteer

Furniture: When women move into housing, they often do not have a lot of belongings and will need help furnishing their new home. We rely on two community partners, Northwest Furniture Bank and St. Vincent de Paul, to help with these items. Please consider donating your furniture to these great organizations.

Friends of Youth

As the populations of King and Snohomish Counties have increased over the past few decades, so too have the numbers of young people grappling with issues such as homelessness, family violence and substance abuse.

Mamma's Hands

  • We're excited to share that our Mamma's Hands Wishlist is constantly growing and updated weekly! Our residents, including mothers and their babies, regularly add personal wishlist items that bring them joy and a sense of normalcy. These items might be considered "luxuries" to some, but to our residents, they are invaluable. Please consider purchasing an item from our wishlist and help make a difference in their lives. Our families THANK YOU! Click here

  • Calling All Volunteers! Do you love spending time with little ones? We’re looking for volunteers to help with on-site babysitting on weekdays while our moms attend important meetings and classes. We can be flexible on days and hours throughout the week to fit your schedule! We’re also searching for a consistent volunteer every other Friday from 2-3pm or 1-4pm. YMCA Host Homes

The Host Homes King County program matches young people ages 12-24 with hosts in the community who can provide the space and opportunity they need to build independent living skills, gain stability, and focus on goal attainment. This program provides much-needed stability for young people who are "almost there", many are already working and close to obtaining housing, and just need a boost. Host families are volunteers from the community who willingly offer a room in their home that provides safe, short-term, and supportive housing to young people who are at imminent risk of becoming homeless. This is a simple and direct way to make an impact on King County's homelessness crisis. Over 1,500 youth and young adults between the ages of 12-25 are homeless or unstably housed within King County. Shelter beds and community resources are limited, leaving the vast majority of young people without access to food or safe housing. Through the Host Homes King County Program you have the opportunity to be a champion for some of these homeless young adults. Host Home FAQ
