Disability Empowerment Center: Community Bridge

Community Bridge is a program that launches this month, Sept 2024. It will help patients who are hospitalized and have a new disability to manage the transition after they are discharged. Some things we can assist with are post-hospitalization services, navigating challenges that come with a new disability and providing resources.

Go-Vax Kids: Mobile Vaccine Services

2025: There will be no additional scheduled clinics January – June of 2025 with Go-Vax Kids. Go-Vax Kids has completed their grant program cycle at this time. Go-Vax Kids is a 2023 publicly grant funded mobile vaccination clinic program to provide Covid, influenza and routine childhood immunizations to children in areas of highest need based on social vulnerability in King County. We partner with school districts and community based organizations to provide on-site pediatric vaccinations at schools, district-wide vaccine events and at community based hosted events. We are actively seeking new partnerships in areas of South Seattle, Burien, Kent, Federal Way and Auburn. If you are hosting an Event with Kids, we’d be happy to discuss offering vaccinations at your event.

Asthma Community Health Worker Program Registration: The program consists of virtual or home visits to educate patients with asthma and their families and equip them with the tools they need to improve their health. We invite healthcare providers and community service organizations to refer patients or clients to our program by completing the survey below. Alternatively, people with asthma or their caregivers can complete the survey for themselves or on behalf of a family member.

ZoomCare Free Nights Healthcare services on the second Wednesday of every month.  

We'll see patients from 6-9 p.m. We schedule appointments at the clinic on a first come-first served basis beginning at 5:45 p.m. When a patient arrives at the clinic, they'll be registered for a 15-minute visit with a ZoomCare provider. The patient may leave the clinic and return at his or her appointment time, or choose to wait in the lobby. Please bring a photo ID. No other documentation is required. King County Mobile medical and dental van schedules  Dec Schedule

Please check daily for the most updated information. This program provides walk-in care for people who are living homeless (or were recently homeless) only. Please try to arrive at least one hour before the scheduled end time for the clinic. On rare occasions the clinic will close earlier than the scheduled time. Call the Mobile Van nursing lines if you would like to confirm the clinic end time for a particular day.

Valley Cities Mobile Clinic

The Valley Cities Behavioral Health Mobile Clinic extends its services to diverse locations within rural King County. Our outreach-based clinicians provide a client-centered, harm reduction approach to enhance accessibility to prospective clients in need of integrated behavioral healthcare services. We can also help people connect to other community services including: - A doctor’s office that can provide follow-up care. - Mental health care, including counseling. - Substance abuse counseling and treatment via a harm reduction approach. - Enrollment into health insurance. - Enrollment into ORCA LIFT transportation assistance. - Referrals to shelter, food banks, legal assistance and domestic violence programs.

WA Healthcare Authority: Apple Health Expansion 2024 Enrollment Closed

The enrollment limit for Apple Health Expansion has been met. If you have not applied, you can still complete your application for Apple Health Expansion to be considered if space opens in the program. If you applied for coverage and were denied because the cap was met, there are no additional steps you need to take. There is still a possibility you may be randomly selected to enroll if space opens in the program. You will receive an eligibility notice if you are selected for enrollment. Clients may be eligible if they: Are a Washington resident age 19 or older * Have countable income under 138 percent of the federal poverty level * Do not qualify for other Apple Health programs based on immigration status (Immigrants who have not met the five-year waiting period to become eligible for Apple Health are not eligible for Apple Health Expansion). Are not pregnant or did not have a pregnancy end in the last 12 months, and are not eligible for qualified health plans with advance premium tax credits (APTC), federally funded medical assistance programs.

Refugee/Limited English Proficiency Health Literacy Document: For people who are newly arrived to the US, navigating the health care system and finding appropriate resources for health care can be challenging.  The Washington Poison Center recognizes the need for health literacy materials in diverse languages to assist people who have limited English proficiency navigate a complex health care system. With this in mind, and after extensive interviews with community partners who serve limited English proficiency populations, our education team developed a half-page handout to inform people about where to get their healthcare needs met- that may be calling 911, 988, the Washington Poison Center, going to their primary care doctor, urgent care or the hospital emergency room.  At the link above, you can find this translated brochure in English as well as 20+ languages.  Please feel free to download, print and distribute them.

MAPS-MCRC Free Medical Clinic 

In response to COVID-19 and in conformance to Public Health guidelines, the MCRC medical clinic has moved online.  The MAPS-MCRC Clinic will be providing telehealth services (free of charge) for those in need of healthcare during this time. King County 2024 Additional Steps To Address Surge of Fentanyl and Stop Overdose Deaths in the Region

  • The strategies expand behavioral health treatment, increase access to medications for opioid use disorder, and make overdose prevention tools and resources more widely available.

  • Launch a 24/7 Buprenorphine Prescribing Line: TeleBup Hotline. This 24/7, free hotline (206-289-0287) offers access to medical professionals who can prescribe buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid use disorder by treating withdrawal symptoms and preventing overdose. All callers are recommended to have Apple Health or another insurance coverage. However, those who are uninsured should still call, as care coordinators can determine the least costly solutions to access medication. Questions? Email telebup@uw.edu.

WA State Charity Care Law Effective July 2022

Approximately half of all Washingtonians are eligible for free or reduced-cost care at Washington state hospitals. These protections apply to out-of-pocket hospital costs, including co-pays and deductibles, regardless of insurance status. Washington law now provides the strongest protections in the country for out-of-pocket hospital costs.

Telehealth sexual and reproductive health care services now available in Washington

March 2023: The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has launched a new webpage and tool to find telehealth sexual and reproductive health care services in Washington. The new DOH webpage and tool offers information about 37 clinics in the Washington State Sexual and Reproductive Health Network that provide telehealth appointments. Available telehealth services include birth control refills, pregnancy options counseling, emergency contraceptives, and screenings for sexually transmitted infections. Gender affirming care and PrEP for HIV prevention are available at some sites if a person has previously received the services from the provider.
