Do you experience barriers when trying to access places you need to go, like no curb ramps, difficulty getting to bus stops, or a lack of accessible parking? Do you have priority destinations and locations you’d like SDOT to focus on? We need your feedback to help update our ADA Transition Plan. This plan helps us prioritize projects and improve accessibility in Seattle's transportation system.

September 10 Fundraiser at Washington Hall, 153 14th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122. Blueprint to Build: Our Social Housing Future. Social housing leaders straight from SSHD will break down how resident governance is actually taking shape, and the whole thing will be hosted by our amazing emcee, Council Member Alexis Mercedes Rinck. Their goal is to raise $50,000 for this event and grow the Social Housing Activators base to 175 members. Hopelink Mobile Market Schedule - August Schedule & September Schedule The Mobile Market distributes food around the community. Everything is free! We have a wide selection of fresh produce, dairy, and breads, as well as frozen foods, to choose from. You can also receive a prepackaged box of food with: soup, pasta, peanut butter, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, beans, tuna, and cereal. During each visit, you will be able to pick up enough food for at least 21 meals. You do not need to call in advance.

New Weekly Market Schedule
Our Market will be open every week on:
Mondays: 1:00–7:00 p.m.
Thursdays: 1:00–5:00 p.m. (Express Shopping)
Although the Market will be open every week, shoppers may visit once every two weeks—the same frequency we currently offer. Shoppers may choose which week works best for their first visit and continue shopping every other week from there.
Tuesday Market shopping will no longer be available.
Express Shopping
Express Shopping will still be offered on Thursdays. For those that have limited time availability, this is a quicker option for picking up food.
Shoppers will fill out a form onsite to choose what goods they would like, and a volunteer will bring their bags outside to them. The average wait time with this model is less than 10 minutes.
Please note that dry pantry goods will not be offered during Thursday Express Shopping at this time. Shoppers will still receive available fresh foods such as produce, milk, eggs, and meat, as well as toiletries such as diapers, wipes, feminine hygiene products, and incontinence products. As with regular Market shopping, all items are subject to availability.

All of these changes are being made because of new requirements from Food Lifeline. We understand that schedule changes can be difficult, and we remain committed to helping community members access the food and services they need.

EF&R: Eastside Mobile Integrated Health(MIH)has now merged with Puget Sound's FD CARES program. Our model is now one Care Coordinator/Social and one Nurse. Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) is a program designed to support individuals and families after 9-1-1 interactions. Our team provides outreach, assessment, and connection to services for individuals experiencing a range of non-emergent needs, including behavioral health concerns, medical/social vulnerabilities, housing or resource instability, and follow-up support after a 9-1-1 response. MIH works closely with EF&R crews, police partners, and local service providers to help connect individuals with the right resources at the right time. Find more information HERE. Suicide Prevention LEARN® Training Webinar September 15 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Online Many of us have confided in others during dark times and vice versa. But it can feel awkward, if not downright frightening, not knowing what to do when a loved one or a peer shows suicide warning signs. Developed by Forefront Suicide Prevention at the University of Washington, you will learn a five-step process using our LEARN model (based on best practices outlined by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA)) to help you talk with someone you’re worried about, learn if they are considering suicide, and take early steps to keep them safe.

There will be scheduled breaks and opportunities to practice the skills built in the workshop, including practice on how to talk about this subject with others. This FREE peer-to-peer training will increase your confidence in having a conversation with someone about suicide, helping to direct them toward lifesaving resources.

The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) Foundational Community Supports (FCS) team invite you to join them for the September training webinar hosted in partnership with Rutgers University Department of Psychiatric and Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions.
Join the Buried in Treasures Learning Community, a monthly interactive learning series for Washington State Foundational Community Supports (FCS) providers who want to strengthen their ability to support individuals experiencing hoarding behaviors. Grounded in the evidence-based Buried in Treasures (2nd Edition) program, this learning community provides practical, person-centered strategies rooted in cognitive-behavioral approaches, motivational enhancement, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction to help individuals make meaningful, self-directed progress.
Objectives: Identify the core characteristics of hoarding behavior, including the emotional, cognitive, and environmental factors that contribute to its development and persistence.
Explain the motivations, ambivalence, and barriers that influence an individual's readiness and ability to reduce or manage hoarding behaviors.
Apply trauma-informed, person-centered strategies from the Buried in Treasures approach to engage, support, and empower individuals in creating safer, healthier, and more functional living environments.

It's a completely interactive learning workshop. For nourishers, by nourishers, we're volunteers making connections and learning how we can harness all of our passionate energies to find and then solve basic human needs problems located in our region. Passionate volunteers, service and gov agencies, faith groups, neighborhood organizations, civic groups, we share our combined knowledge and experiences, strengthen our relationships and figure out how we can best get things done helping people who need help.
