Dementia Friends Information Sessions
Come and learn about dementia and ways that you can take action in your community! Join a free, 60-minute information session where you’ll learn information about dementia- what it is, the most common type, how to communicate with someone living with dementia, and key messages to know. Sammamish Seniors is a community for all adults 50+ in Sammamish, to gather online or in a physical location to enhance their overall health by utilizing our resources, taking classes, and through friendships.
Sammamish Seniors and the Sammamish YMCA offer “Drop in” Fridays for all adults. From noon to 3 pm you can gather in the Rotary meeting room for conversation and a variety of activities. The YMCA is located at 831 228th Ave SE, Sammamish.
Indian American Community Services: Senior Services has thoughtfully crafted the recently launched Sammamish Cross Cultural Program for folks aged 55 and above from Sammamish (& vicinity). Date & Time: Every M, W & F; 10 am - 2 pm. Venue: Beaver Lake Lodge, 25203 SE 24th S, Sammamish, WA 98075
We help seniors remain living in their own home for as long as possible by mobilizing community volunteers to provide transportation, household help and friendly visiting. We are often the only reason some seniors can continue living independently. All services are provided free of charge. Eastside Friends of Seniors' website has just been updated! Not only do we have a great new look, but you can find all the information you need to volunteer or find services in Issaquah and Sammamish for seniors!
King County Senior Hubs: Far East Senior Hub
Senior Hubs are charged with paying particular attention to seniors who are isolated and/or who have had less access to senior center connections in the past. Divided into geographic or cultural hubs, each Senior Hub brings a unique approach to serving seniors in King County.
Daytime Memory Care & Caregiver Respite: Old Friends Club brings affordable active social clubs for people living with dementia in Western Washington. Old Friends Club empowers communities to cultivate joy in the lives of adults with dementia and nourish the wellbeing of family caregivers.
A comprehensive non-profit organization that serves older adults and adults with disabilities in King County. We strive to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under-served and marginalized populations. Our programs and affiliated service sites provide accessible resources and services across King County.
Volunteer Transportation Service: Rider Eligibility: * King County residents aged 60 years and over * able to transfer into a private vehicle with minimal assistance * an older adult with limited transportation options. To schedule a ride, call 206-448-5740 or 1-800-282-5815
NEW Sound Generations Program - Health-Related Social Needs (HRSN): Do you or someone you know have health-related social needs (HRSN)? HRSN are an individual’s unmet, adverse social conditions (e.g., housing instability, homelessness, food insecurity) that affect their health and well-being. We will assess your needs and available benefits, connect you with resources and services, and follow up to ensure your needs are met. Our services are available to you if you currently live in King County (even without a fixed address) and: • you are experiencing issues that affect your health (i.e. food, housing, and/or financial insecurity) • you could use assistance navigating access to services (i.e. applying for benefits or connecting to different programs and services) *Our focus group: older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers. Sound Generations Yard Clean- up and Decluttering Project; This year, King County is funding a onetime project to assist older adults with major yard clean up and decluttering for NO COST. Eligibility requirements and the required referral form are embedded in the attached flyer. King County’s yard clean-up project is designed for people with overgrown yards, not ongoing yard maintenance. The clean-up will prepare the yard for someone to maintain more easily going forward. The decluttering project works to reduce risk of falls, improve functionality and access in home / apartment. Clients must be willing to declutter or have someone to liaison with to remove the clutter.
Full Life Care helps adults of all ages who have chronic illnesses and physical or developmental disabilities. Full Life is a not-for-profit health and social services organization designed to enhance the independence and well-being of all our clients and program participants and to provide respite for caregivers. We provide a range of programs to help you reach your goals and achieve small miracles every day.
Provides you a caring, highly trained advocate who will give easy access to information, individual consultation and service options. We have an extensive network of community partners giving us the ability to answer questions and find the most appropriate help for you. Staff can determine if you are eligible for programs, services, and public benefits to help you or your loved one live with dignity and enjoy the best quality of life possible. Calls to the Community Living Connections line are free and confidential.
Services include individual consultation and help planning for long-term care needs, and information and assistance accessing community resources such as: Medicaid * State and federal benefits * Nutrition programs * Family caregiver programs * Kinship care * Care coordination * Medicaid case management * Minor home repair * Volunteer transportation * And many more

The System Navigation Hub is intended to meet the unique needs of low-income seniors and individuals 18+ with disabilities and their caregivers. We strive to serve the diverse needs of our community, which include a variety of languages, cultures, socioeconomic statuses, and geographic barriers. Individuals can now access Hub services directly!
KCLS: Online: Questions about Medicare?
The Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) is a free, unbiased and confidential counseling service of the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioners (OIC). SHIBA's trained and impartial volunteers are available to assist consumers with their Medicare related questions. Register online for a one-hour session that will be conducted over the phone. A free, unbiased and confidential service of the Washington state Office of the Insurance Commissioner, SHIBA volunteers help people of all ages and backgrounds with their Medicare questions and options.

Indian American Community Services - Services for aging Asian Indian, 55+ with weekly social and physical activities.
Chinese Information and Service Center - Support for Chinese and Eastern European senior offering short-term support and crisis intervention to help low-income older adults and adults with disabilities with no/low English literacy to access crucial services.
Asian Counseling and Referral Services - Services for Asian and Pacific Islanders, 55+ create opportunities to engage in social and physical activities, offer nutritious meals and assist with accessing supportive services.

Free Audiobooks from the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library
Do you or your loved one struggle with reading the newspaper because the print is too small? Are you missing your favorite books or authors because you can’t focus for long periods of time? Is it hard to hold a book or turn pages because of hand tremors or arthritis? The Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (WTBBL) can keep you reading with free audiobooks.
King County Senior property tax exemption:
Seniors, people with disabilities, and others with qualifying conditions: For more information about applying for property tax exemptions or deferrals, visit here or call 206-263-2338. State law provides two tax benefit programs for senior citizens and the disabled: property tax exemptions and property tax deferrals. Yet more than 26,000 qualified seniors and disabled persons have yet to register for the exemption, and only 1 in 100 of those eligible for deferrals are currently enrolled. The process of applying is fairly simple. We encourage you or those you know to take advantage of this meaningful tax relief provided for our citizens on fixed incomes.
