Insights from the Intern: Week 1 Progress

Hello Nourishing Networks!  I’m so excited to have the opportunity to blog for you and share all the exciting things that are going on within the Nourishing Networks!  You are probably wondering who I am and why I’m blogging here!  Let me tell you my story…

Who Am I?

I’m a senior, graduating in June from the University of Washington | Bothell with a degree in Media & Communications, with an emphasis on pursuing a career working in public relations and social media.  This quarter I have the opportunity to have an internship with Hopelink and specifically with Nourishing Networks and assist with the building of this initiative’s Social Media presence.

I use social media on a daily to promote the social media presence for two sites, my personal blog and small business.  My blog, Cori’s Big Mouth chronicles my crazy life while I balance, college, nanny for triplets; spend time with friends and family!   In addition to my blog, I also have a small online business through Etsy, Blue Eyed Blessings, where I sell and promote handmade hair bows and accessories!

How will I Build a Social Media Presence for Nourishing Networks?

Facebook:
Nourishing Networks now has its own REGIONAL Nourishing Networks Facebook page , please encourage your network to “Like” us so they can receive information that is related to the entire region (all networks).  This Facebook page will be used primarily to connect people with their actual community/network, answer general questions, share ideas between the different networks and have a common “home” location on Facebook for Nourishing Networks to fall.

Twitter:
You can find us on Twitter now @NourishNetworks (*note* no ING) – www.twitter.com/NourishNetworks, please follow us if you have a Twitter account and share it with your followers!

Blog:
Nourishing Networks’ blog will begin blogging twice a week:

  • Tuesday: Will document my journey as an Intern setting up a Social Media profile for Nourishing Networks.
  • Thursday: Will spotlight different Nourishing Networks, where readers are learning about the amazing projects and volunteer opportunities available!

As you also probably have noticed, the blog is currently under construction and will hopefully be fixed and complete in the next couple of days!  So stay tuned for a new and improved and easier to navigate blog!

More to Come…
We have more exciting things to come, so stay tuned!
